NORTHERN TERRITORY - ARNHEM LAND
Cameco holds or has applied for exploration tenements on almost 1,000,000 hectares (or almost 10,000 square km) of prospective land in the western part of Arnhem Land, centred approximately 250 km east of Darwin in the Northern Territory.
Cameco's Arnhem Land tenements stretch from the difficult to access sandstone plateau in the south to the hills and plains below the escarpment in the north and abutting the Arafura Sea. The area is near the Alligator Rivers Uranium Field which produced the world-class unconformity-type uranium deposits of Jabiluka, Ranger, Koongarra and Nabarlek, a former uranium mine.
Arnhem Land projects range in scope from early-stage reconnaissance to mid-stage projects that have shown significant mineralization.
